Doctrine and Disagreement

On Doctrine and Disagreement

Here is where my heart breaks.

On June 4th 1990 God changed my heart in a dramatic way, leaving NO doubt about it. That same day I opened the yellow pages and looked up Christian churches. I was stunned. Why so many different ones. Why so many different beliefs? Wasn’t there only one Bible?

The answer is Satan. He keeps us divided. He keeps us focused in the wrong places. He is very good at what he does. Jesus Christ called him the “ruler of this world”.

So, what do we do? We study. We learn. We speak the truth in love.

We now see through a very dark glass. One day we will all get our doctrine correct. It will be when we’re living with our Lord and probably not before then.

Meanwhile, can’t we just get along? Can’t we just STUDY and THINK together instead of ignoring important passages of Scripture.

Help us Lord never to succumb to pressure to not talk about a Bible subject because we are afraid of creating division.

We’re a family. We ought to be able to have friendly discussions, debates and even squabbles, all in love, and in pursuit of the truth.

That’s our view.

2 Timothy 4:1-5

I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2 Tim. 4:1-5
